School Year Wrap-Up

As the school year comes to a close, I reflect with gratitude to our students, staff, and community. Congratulations to our 2024 Graduates! We are proud of you and have full confidence in your abilities. Our school has a supportive community that cares for all our students. Looking ahead to the summer, I am filled with optimism for the future and excited for the great things to come. I want to extend my deepest appreciation to our students, staff, and parents for their hard work. I encourage everyone to take some time to rest, recharge, and reflect on our many achievements. Thank you for your ongoing support of Hinton, and here's to a bright future for all of us at our outstanding school. The Best Is Yet to Come!

Many Hands Make Light Work

This summer, we have a major construction project that will improve the HVAC systems of most of the Middle School/High School. This includes hot water control improvement, asbestos abatement, new flooring, casework, ceilings, lighting, and electrical distribution. The project is funded through SAVE funds and is phase one of our long-term facilities plan.

The project is under a tight time frame for this summer and will require much to be moved this week so they can start on time on Tuesday. The football team is coming in to help, and we are also asking high school students to be available, along with the 4th - 8th graders, to help move items. We have many carts to make the work easier, and students will not be responsible for moving heavy items. This is an ALL-IN approach, and we thank our students in advance. We encourage teachers and coaches to challenge their team members to come in and help out. This move will directly benefit all staff and students of Hinton into the future. #BlackhawkUp #BlackhawkPride

2024 Retirees

As we welcome new staff, we would like to bid a fond farewell to three beloved members of the Hinton School community: Joel Small, Linda Ward, and Judy Stauffer. They have been long-time fixtures at Hinton and have decided to move on to the next chapter in their lives. Mr. Small has been a high school social studies and PE teacher, coaching multiple sports over his twenty-three years at Hinton. Mrs. Ward has been an elementary teacher during her 17 years at Hinton. Mrs. Stauffer has served the district in various roles, including the library, food service, and as a paraeducator for the last three years during her 35 years of service to the district.

They have a few things in common. They are reliable, greet students and staff with a genuine smile, and support their students and colleagues daily. They have been great role models to students and staff alike. Thank you!

Joel Small

Joel Small

"As coworkers, Mr. Small showed me how to connect with students, coach them, teach them, and whether or not he wanted to openly say it, truly care about our kids.  I know, I would not be the same coach, teacher, or person without you in my life, and I know there are many kids and staff over your 41 years in education who feel the same. Thank you, Small for soaring with us!" - Jennifer Jacobs-List

Linda Ward

Linda Ward

"Linda has been everything you would want in a teacher.  She cares about each and every child and differentiates to meet their needs.  She has high expectations, yet makes learning fun.  She rarely missed a day in the classroom because she loved her job and wants to be here with her students.  She will be greatly missed." - Kathy Rhodes

Judy Stauffer

Judy Stauffer

"Ms. Judy is as dedicated as they come; she has given over 35 years of her life to the Hinton School District. She was able to put a positive spin on anything and was able to adapt to many positions throughout her years here." - Kayla Fay
